Spring 2007 Track Competition Photos

Winter Girls BASKETBALL!"Right now the girls' 5th and 6th grade basketball team is starting their league games. We have some scrimmage games coming up. We have a great team at our school. We play local schools around our neighborhood. Our games are competitive. It is lots of fun to play with our teammates. Our coach encourages us to play hard. If we have trouble with something in basketball he shows us what to do and tells us to keep practicing it. It is fun to have Mr. Pena as our coach." The Lady Cougars started their season out with a great defensive game. The Middle School Girls team scored 12 points in their first game, and, using some intense defensive pressure, kept the Live Oak team without a basket the entire game. Gabi led the team in scoring with 8 points. Kayla scored 4 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and had 2 blocks. Gabby added 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Frances tied up the ball 3 times for jump balls. Fourth grader Kari got her first block of the year in the 4th quarter. Everyone played with lots of energy and heart. |
Winter Boys BASKETBALL!"Right now the 5th and 6th grade boys' basketball team is getting close to the end of the season. We are starting to win. Our last two games are this week. We have had a great season so far. Even though we have lost many games, it has been fun. We hope to win more games next season and also get into another league because the gym has been too small, although the league is very challenging." "Whoa!!! And GO Carden Cougars! 5th and 6th grade boys' basketball won their second game. We will probably win another two. This season was a very good learning experience. Brandon in the 5th grade is on a shooting streak. Last game he made his high score of 27 points. Can you believe that?!?! Chris C. in the 6th grade was all over the court. Same with 5th grader Kyle C. Austin, a 5th grader, dived for the jump ball, caught a couple rebounds and was hustling pretty nicely. Kolby had a lot of good passes in there. Taylor was playing some hard core defense. There's your B-Ball news, coming from...." The Middle School Carden Boys put out a great effort in their first game in the Sacramento Waldorf League. The Cougars got out to a nice lead in the first half, but the Cedar Springs team heated up in the fourth quarter and pulled out the win, with a final score of 26-22. The Cougars were led in scoring by Jarret, Logan and Eddenfield, who scored 5 points each. The Cougars scored two three-pointers in the fourth quarter to get back in the game (by Jarret and Bjorn). Stephen and Anthony J. had two points each for the Cougars, and Bjorn had 3 points. |

Fall 2006 Focus on FLAG FOOTBALL!
By Jarett, 7th Grade
This year, the Carden Flag Football team played some great football. The team had 2 wins and 4 losses. Carden had almost eliminated the number one team. The football team had some trick plays that were very effective in the games. Coach Carlson and Coach Pena were great coaches. Coach Carlson helped the team on defense while Coach Pena worked on the team's offense. The team played wonderfully this year and we're anxious to see next year's team. GO COUGARS!

Wow, watch the Carden girls GO!
