Fourth Grade Field Trip to Mission Dolores
By Shayanna
We went to one of the missions. It was San Francisco de Asis. When we got there we sat on the stairs and listened to our tour guide. After that we went into the two churches. In the first one she told us to look up at the ceiling because it had a design on it. She was talking about this boy who grew up rich and got everything he wanted. One day the boy said he did not want to be rich. He gave his food to the poor. He gave his belongings to the poor children. From then on he gave everything he had to anybody he felt bad for in the town. This is the man who started the mission in San Francisco. His name was Father Palou.
In the other part of the field trip we went around and looked at the mission that was built a long time ago. Our tour guide said that when something would happen in the church the people would pull the ropes so the bells would ring. The tour guide picked a couple people to demonstrate how you are supposed to make the bells ring. I loved San Francisco. I would love to go back to San Francisco for a field trip.
Third Grade Field Trip to Folsom Zoo
By Davin
My class went on a field trip to the Folsom Zoo. We saw many interesting animals and watched a mountain lion demonstration.
My favorite animal at the zoo was the long-tailed monkey. I liked the monkey because he fell in a bucket. Here are some fascinating facts about this animal: One was Darwin. He belongs to the long-tailed monkey family or another name is crab-eating macaques.
After eating lunch in the park we played on the playground. I had fun, on the seat that spun us. The best part of the day was watching the monkey fall in the bucket.
