I had a very good time in Quebec. We departed in the morning on the day of May 1, 2006 at 11:30 A.M. We arrived in Montreal around 11:00 P.M. We had a long 5 hour flight from Sacramento International Airport to Chicago O'Hare, where we boarded our connecting flight to Montreal. We met our tour guide and bus driver, Richard, when we arrived in Montreal.
On the first day of the tour, Richard showed us the beautiful sights of the city of Montreal. He explained to us in detail the historical sights of this city. He showed us the huge Olympic Stadium, an "underground city", which was filled with shops and restaurants, the St. Joseph's Cathedral, and many other interesting monuments.
Later that night, we took a 2 hour bus ride to the city of Quebec. The next morning, we visited the Parlement building. It was the French Canadian equivalent to the U.S. Capital. The security there was very tight. Later that day, we all went shopping in the old barricaded city of Quebec. Richard recommended many shops and also told us which restaurants were good to go to. The next day we visited a very beautiful water fall. The waterfall was flowing with power because of the recent snow melt.
Quebec and Montreal are very old cities compared to Sacramento. Also, Quebec has the only barricaded city north of Mexico. We all had a great time in Quebec. The province's culture has remained unchanged for hundreds of years. I had a great time in Quebec. It is very old, and very interesting.
